Le célèbre bloc extrême helvète “The Story of 2 worlds” vient d’être répété deux fois aujourd’hui par le polonais Pawel “Rambo” Jelonek et l’autrichien Christof Rauch. Tandis que Pawel coche son premier 8C, Christof avait déjà plusieurs blocs dans ce niveau à son actif avec notamment 3 premières ascensions en mai dernier : “Iron Knuckles”, “Styrian delirium” et “Carynthian dreams” à Kärnten et Weststeiermark dans le sud de l’Autriche. En novembre, il avait aussi répété “Zunami” à Saalachtal. Le mutant autrichien ne s’est pas arrêté là malgré la fatigue de sa réalisation. Après un check des méthodes du départ bas, il a réalisé la seconde ascension de ce dernier derrièr. Ce rajout avait été ouvert par Koyamada en 2012 et proposé à 8C+. Mais Christof ramène l’ensemble à 8C.
The famous boulder “The story of 2 worlds” has seen 2 repeats today. First Polish Pawl “Rambo” Jelonek for his first 8C. Then Austrian climber Christof Rauch, for his 5th of the grade, after 3 first ascents last May in Southern Autria and “Zunami” (Saalachtal, Salzburg) in November. Despite the tireness of the send, Christof has ended the day with a beta check and finally see did a second repeat of the low start of the problem, opened by Koyamada in 2012 and given 8C+. Christof thinks the difficulty of the problem is 8C. “Afterwards I checked out the lower moves with no big expectations. Sometimes it seems like this is the key to success and after a hell of a fight I stood on top of this amazing boulder and nabbed the second ascent.”
