Le grimpeur chilien Facundo Langbehn avait bâti une obsession du 8C bloc classique de Red Rocks (Nevada), “The Nest”. Facundo avait visionné la vidéo de l’ouverture par Daniel Woods et James Webb en 2013 et avait filé direct l’essayer. l’an dernier. Le séjour s’était avéré infructueux (cf vidéo ci-dessous) mais Facundo était passé finalement assez proche de la croix. Il vient de réaliser son rêve il y a quelques jours et a réussi à dompter ce crux avec cette relance en épaule sur un pince large infâme, empochant la 5ème ascension du bloc (après Woods, Webb, Robinson et Hukkataival), et devenant ainsi le premier chilien dans le 8C bloc et le second grimpeur d’Amérique du Sud dans le 8C bloc après le brésilien Felipe Camargo.

He watched the video of the first ascent by Woods and Webb in 2013 and then decided to try this masterpiece. Last year, he was very close to send it (watch video below). Some days ago, he finally succeed to stick this gaston crux move to a slopy insane large pinch and to take the 5th ascent of the boulder after Woods, Webb, Robinson and Hukkataival. Facundo is the first Chilean to reach the 8C boulder grade, and the second climber of South-America to climb V15 after Brasilian Felipe Camargo.
