Les grimpeuses ayant réussi à gravir du 8c au Frankenjura sont très peu nombreuses. Une liste plus ou moins exhaustive de ces dernières comprendrait Sarah Seeger à de multiples reprises, Lena Herrmann avec “Battle cat”, Mathilda Söderlund avec “Odd felows”, Conny Matthes avec “Powerplay” et “Intercooler”, Johanna Ernst et Melissa Le Nevé avec le mythique “Wallstreet”… La star autrichienne Angela Eiter vient de démontrer une nouvelle fois son grand talent en rentrant dans ce cercle fermé, et chose notable, en réalisant “Battle cat” 8c/c+ en seulement 3 petits essais, malgré des températures estivales. Bravo ! Vivement qu’elle s”investisse ici dans un projet à plus long terme. Le Franken attend toujours son premier 9a féminin !
Very few female climbers have managed to reach grades as high as 8c in the legendary crags of Frankenjura. The list, more or less comprehensive, at least to the best of our knowledge, includes Sarah Seeger with several routes, Lena Herrmann with “Battle Cat”, Mathilda Söderlund with “Odd felows”, Conny Matthes with “Powerplay” and “Intercooler” and Johanna Ernst and Melissa Le Nevé with the mythical “Wallstreet”. Angela Eiter just proved her tremendous talent once again -as if needed- by entering this very closed group of climbers with a quick repeat of Battle Cat, 8c/c+ in merely 3 tries, and despite less than favorable summer conditions. Congratulations! If she were to dedicate more time to a harder climb there, the Frankenjura might get its long-awaited first female 9a.
