Jane Svecova est une forte bloqueuse tchèque, avec de nombreux blocs dans le 8ème degré à son actif et une puissance phénoménale dans les doigts ; elle s’est fait connaitre en documentant ses séances sur les réseaux et sur YouTube. Jane s’est attelée au « Terranova » d’Adam Ondra à Holstejn depuis quelques années, en compagnie notamment de Will Bosi, étant relativement proche de pouvoir répéter. Elle avait réussi à enchainer la deuxième partie, « Nova » 8C en 2023. Cette fois-ci c’est une première ascension que Jane vient de réaliser avec « Tokyo Drift » proposé à 8C, toujours à Holstejn. Un passage qui combine gros dévers et prises inexistantes à tenir. Avec cette proposition Jane signe la première ascension la plus difficile jamais réalisée par une grimpeuse en bloc. Voici sa réaction à chaud.
« Aujourd’hui, j’ai vécu le plus beau jour de ma vie de grimpeuse. Cette réussite était tellement inattendue, non pas parce que je n’étais pas proche de l’enchainement, mais à cause des conditions et d’autres circonstances. Tout d’abord, il faisait 5 °C, un froid polaire presque ingrimpable pour moi, et il y avait un vent de folie. Ensuite, j’ai dû réajuster la plupart des prises et j’ai même glissé du pied, mais mon envie de réussir ce bloc lors de cette session était plus forte que n’importe quel zipette ou mauvaise adhérence. Ça a tout simplement marché… bon, ça a été un peu dramatique à la fin, j’étais très émue. Jane has been tackling Adam Ondra’s “Terranova” at Holstejn for several years now, notably alongside Will Bosi, and is relatively close to completing the route. She managed to link the second section, “Nova” (8C), in 2023. This time, Jane has just completed a first ascent of “Tokyo Drift,” rated 8C, also at Holstejn. A section that combines steep overhangs and virtually non-existent holds to hold. With this achievement, Jane completed the most difficult first ascent ever by a female boulderer! « Today was the best day of my climbing career.
The send was so unexpected, not because I wouldn’t be close in terms of highpoint, but because of the conditions and other circumstances.
First of all, the temp was 5 degrees celsius which is almost unimaginable for me to climb and extremely windy.
Second of all, I had to readjust most of the holds and even had a foot slip. but the desire to send this boulder this go, this session was bigger than any slip and wrongly hit hold. It just worked … well, it was kinda drama at the end, I was emotional. I will tell and show you the whole story in a YouTube video that will come out soon hopefully »
