Première ascension en 8c+/9a pour Laura Rogora – 8c+/9a first ascent by Laura Rogora

Qualifiée aux JO grâce au Tournoi de qualification olympique de novembre, la jeune italienne de 18 ans n’en oublie pas le milieu naturel entre deux séances de préparation. Malgré l’épidémie de coronavirus qui frappe le pays, obligeant plusieurs régions du Nord au confinement, la grimpeuse Romaine a pu s’échapper grimper sur le site de Ferentillo dans le centre de la Péninsule. Elle y réussit la première ascension de “Corvo morto”, une ligne qu’elle avait déjà essayée plusieurs fois l’an dernier et pour laquelle elle propose une cotation entre 8c+ et 9a. C’est déjà la 3ème voie de ce niveau pour elle en 2020 après “Pal Norte” 8c+/9a et “La Bongada” 9a cochés à Margalef en début d’année.

Qualified for Olympics, the young italian climber (18) is not fogetting rocks between 2 indoor sessions. Despite coronavirus epidemic hitting the country and forcing some regions of the North to containment, Laura managed to quit Roma and climb this week-end in Ferntillo, in the centre of the peninsula. She mastered the first ascent of “Corto Molvo”, a route she attempted several times last year. She proposes hard 8c+ ar soft 9a, next repetitors will see… It’s her 3rd route in this level in 2020 with “Pal Norte” 8c+/9a and “La Bongada” climbed in Margalef at the beginning of the year.
