Siegrist et Schab répètent des voies extrêmes en Espagne – Siegrist and Schab climb extreme routes in Spain

  • 06/05/2019

A suivre !

Two extreme routes have been climbed this week-end in Spain! First, on Satursday Jonathan Siegrist took the 4th ascent of “La Planta de Shiva” 9b, Villanueva Del Rosario, Andalusia. After a 8c+ approach, the real difficulties came with an insane physical resistance section. First climbed by Adam Ondra (2011) and Jakob Schubert, this gem became famous in November 2017 after Angie Eiter’s repeat for the first and unique female 9b of the world. Jonathan was attempting the route since 3 weeks before the success. It’s his second 9b, he also climbed “Jumbo Love” a year ago. A nice achievement!

He explains on his Instagram account: “The hardest part about climbing at your limit is balancing the emotions of wanting something with such overwhelming intensity and also somehow finding the strength to let it go and be free from the pressure. I found some kind of middle path today on ‘La Planta de Shiva’ 9b.”

This Sunday, Piotr Schab striked again in Oliana after his repeat of Fight or flight” few days ago. The polish phenom did a quick ascent of the very resistant 50 meters King line “Pachamama” 9a+. Again one week left for him, so having ever climbed “Papi chulo” Piot will probably try to imitate Seb Bouin for a repeat of “Mamichula” soon? Wait and see…
