Troisième ascension de WoGü dans le Rätikon- 3rd ascent of WoGü in the Rätikon mountains

  • 06/10/2017

Dur.

Hard. Congrats to German climber Roland Hemetzberger who has done the 3rd free ascent of “WoGü”, one of the hardest multi-pitch of Europa, located in Rätikon mountains, Switzerland. Freed for the first time by Adam Ondra in 2008 and by Edu Marin last year, this multi-pitch has been bolted by Beat Kammerlander in 1997 in memory of Wolgang Güllich and proposes sustained difficulties on a 350 meters wall :  8c, 8a, 8c, 8b+, 8b+, 8a+, 7c+. A nice revenge fo Roland after a pulley break last year. He was quite lucky this time, after falling 3 times at the end of the last 8b+ at his last attempt, Roland has climbed on his first go all the pitches to the top, and then the rain began to start 15 minutes after ! Roland is not an unknown climber with severa routes in the ninth grad under his belt, especially the first ascent of “Nebuchadnezzar”, New Zealand’s first 9a. ANd it seems it’s nox a good period for sending after the first freeascent of “Kampfzone” by Kammerlander few days ago
