Vingt ans après les exploits de la machine Josune Bereziartu dans « Bimbaluna » 9a/+ à Saint-Loup, une grimpeuse basque de 18 ans, Ainhize Belar devient le première grimpeuse espagnole dans le 9a+ avec le très raide « Iñi Ameriketan » à Baltola. Cette voie a été équipée par Iñigo Basterra et proposée 9a à l’ouverture par Rikardo Otegui en 2002, répétée par Patxi Usobiaga puis a été réévaluée par Adam Ondra himself (3ème ascension) en 2014 et ensuite Iban Larrion en 2016. Ainhize empoche en fin d’été dernier la 5ème ascension de la voie, grimpant à la perfection cette voie extrême. Appréciez sa grimpe dans le documentaire ci-dessous!
Twenty years after Josune Bereziartu’s feat on “Bimbaluna” 9a/+ in Saint-Loup, 18-year-old Basque climber Ainhize Belar has become the first female Spanish climber to reach 9a+ with the very steep “Iñi Ameriketan” located at Baltola cave. This route, bolted by Iñigo Basterra and proposed at 9a after the FA by Rikardo Otegui in 2002, was repeated by Patxi Usobiaga and upgraded by Adam Ondra himself (3rd ascent) in 2014 and then by Iban Larrion in 2016. At the end of the summer of 2024, Ainhize grabbed the route’s 5th ascent, climbing this extreme line perfectly. Enjoy this fine documentary below!
