Daniel Woods flashe un 8B+ en Suisse – Daniel Woods flashes 8B+ in Switzerland

  • 11/10/2022

Daniel Woods is in the country of Magic Wood, but it is in Fionnay that the American has flashed what he thinks is his hardest boulder to-date: ‘Compass North”, 8B+. The problem was opened by Clément Lechaptois this very year, and soon after Aidan Roberts grabbed the second ascent, narrowly missing the flash himself.

You may remember that in 2011 Woods had flashed ‘Entlinge’, a Fred Nicole boulder opened at 8C in 2005. When the American climbed it the consensus was on 8B+, but as time went by it got downgraded further still to sit at 8B now, hence Woods’ remark regarding ‘Compass North’. Mind you, the American is hinting that 8B/+ could be more appropriate for this new crimp-fest.

Video in the pipeline.
