Tanguy Merard est résolument un des falaisistes français en forme de ce début d’année ! Après avoir réalisé à Russan “Les yeux plus gros que les roubignolles”, Tanguy nous confiait qu’il allait s’atteler à d’autres voies dures. Cela n’a pas trainé puisque c’est la classique de Saint-Léger “Supercrackinette” qui a succombé, pour déjà son second 9a+ de 2023, son 3ème en tout en comptant la “Moustache qui fâche“. Voici son commentaire.

“Je pensais à cette voie depuis un moment, quand j’ai fait la variante “Crackinette” 8c il y a 2 ans j’avais pensé que ce serait un bon chantier. Cette année j’avais projeté d’essayer, j’ai fait un premier voyage en décembre, je n’étais pas en bonne forme mais j’ai pu trouver mes méthodes et apprivoiser la voie. Ces vacances ont été une bonne opportunité de revenir, on est parti une semaine avec beaucoup d’amis qui aiment grimper dehors. Dès le premier jour je me suis senti bien dans la voie et assez confiant sur ma réussite.
J’ai passé le crux sur mono mais je suis tombé ensuite immédiatement 3 fois dans la section finale. Le jour de la croix tout s’est bien passé, le temps était bon et j’ai fait un super run d’enchainement avec les encouragements de mes amis. Merci à cette équipe de rêve pour ce séjour, et à mes sponsors, mes amis, et ma famille. “

Tanguy Merard is for sure one of the French rock climber the most in shape at the beginning of the year! After clipping the anchor of “Les yeux plus gros que les roubignolles” in Russan, Tanguy wanted to tackle other hard projects. It proved a quick process as he recently sent “Supercrackinette”, the extreme classic in St-Léger du Ventoux for his second 9a+ of 2023 (his 3rd overall after “La moustache qui fâche in 2021)! Here is his commentary.

“I had been thinking about this route for a while, when I did its Crackinette 8c variant two years ago I thought it would be a good project. This year I had planned to try, I made a first trip at the end of December, I was not in good shape but found my methods and understood the route. These last holidays were a good opportunity to go back, we left for a week with lots of friends excited to climb outdoor. From the first day I felt good on the route and I was quite confident in eventually sending the route.

 I passed the crux on the mono fairly quickly but fell three times in the final section. The day of the send everything went well, the weather was nice and I flew to the top under the encouragement of my friends. It was a great moment of sharing. Thanks to the dream team it was a great trip. Thanks to my sponsors, my family and friends.”
