Le monde va mal. Le 8C+ bloc peine à faire la une des journaux.
Quand bien même, un village peuplé d’irréductibles Fanatiques résiste encore et toujours à l’indifférence. Will Bosi commente l’état des choses avec la première ascension d’un projet de David Graham à Magic Wood, en le nommant « Brain Rot », 8C+. Pourrissement de cerveau donc. Le cœur du problème consiste en trois mouvements extrêmes sur micro-réglettes, pieds aux abonnés absents pour un ballant bien coton.
Naturellement pour l’animal, ce 8C+ s’accompagne d’une ribambelle d’autres croix, dont encore une première ascension de plus (qui peut le plus…): « Kyanite », 8C, variante gauche de « Axinite » tournant autour d’une ouverture de portes d’ascenseur bras tendus!

De son côté, Camille Coudert enchaine un projet de longue date avec « Deep Fake » 8C+ à Brione (vidéo ici), qu’il avait loupé de peu lors de son précédent séjour il y a un mois, après pas moins de 3 séjours et 5 sessions et SANS ventilateur cette fois, après avoir fait parler de lui suite à la seconde ascension et décote de « Mammunk » à Bleau avec ventilateur, apportant des arguments pour légitimer cette pratique, tels l’absence continuelle de conditions ces dernières années à Bleau et une excessive sudation de ses mains dès que les températures s’élèvent. Mais cette fois, pas de décotation chez Camille, qui semble en avoir bavé pour s’offrir son bloc le plus dur en dehors de ses bases !

Au Japon, le compétiteur coréen Hyunbin Min réussit l’exploit de cocher « United », le célèbre 8C+ nippon, à la journée svp, et en signe la quatrième ascension (FA de Ryuichi Murai, Shawn Raboutou et Daisuke Ichimiya).

Enfin, sur le granit du Yosemite, David Fitzgerald signe une belle ouverture avec « Last Line of Defense« , 8C+. Le bloc ajoute un départ bas à « The Shield », 8A, gardé par deux pincettes abo. Un des blocs les plus difficiles des lieux en compagnie du désormais célèbre « The Dark Side » récemment répété par Katie Lamb.
Non, le monde ne va toujours pas mieux. Mais voilà quoi.

The world is going to the dogs. 8C+ boulders are barely making the headlines.
Even so, a village of die-hard fanatics continues to resist the indifference. Will Bosi comments on the state of things with the first ascent of a Dave Graham project in Magic Wood, calling it ‘Brain Rot’, 8C+. Brain rot, says it all innit. The heart of the problem consists of three extreme movements on micro-crimps, feet absent for a very board-like, and borderline, swing.
Naturally for the animal, this 8C+ is accompanied by a string of other ticks, including yet another first ascent: ‘Kyanite’, 8C, a left-hand variant of ‘Axinite’ revolving around a double gaston with arms outstretched! Shoulder stabilisers, beware.

For his part, Camille Coudert has sent a long-standing project with ‘Deep Fake’ 8C+ in Brione (video here), which he narrowly missed on his previous trip a month ago, after no less than 3 trips and 5 sessions and WITHOUT a fan this time, after having made the headlines following the second ascent and downgrade of ‘Mammunk’ in Font with a fan, providing arguments to legitimise the practice, such as the continual absence of conditions in recent years in the forest and excessive sweating of his hands as soon as temperatures rise. But this time, no downgrade and Camille seems to have worked hard for his toughest boulder outside his base!

In Japan, Korean competitor Hyunbin Min managed the feat of bagging ‘United’, the famous Japanese 8C+, in a single day, thereby securing the fourth ascent of the line (FA by Ryuichi Murai, Shawn Raboutou and Daisuke Ichimiya).

Finally, on the Yosemite granite, David Fitzgerald has signed a beautiful FA with ‘Last Line of Defense’, 8C+. The boulder adds a low start to ‘The Shield’, 8A, guarded by two wide fearsome pinches. One of the most difficult boulders in the area, along with the now famous ‘The Dark Side’, recently repeated by Katie Lamb.
No, the world isn’t getting any better. But there you go.
