Cédric Lachat enchaîne La Rambla 9a+ – Cédric Lachat sends La Rambla 9a+ (+video)

De retour en Catalogne depuis quelques jours, Cédric Lachat vient de lancer la saison à Siurana cochant un vieux projet, “La Rambla” 9a+ avec une nouvelle méthode inédite dans le crux !

“J’avais essayé il y a longtemps, une bête noire. La première fois après avoir réalisé “La reina mora” (ndlr: 2015). Puis j’avais essayé il y a 2 ans mais il faisait trop chaud. L’an dernier je me suis investi dedans pendant 2 mois, j’ai fait pas moins de 5 aller-retours depuis Grenoble pour cette voie et j’ai fini avec une rupture de poulie partielle… J’avais mis seulement une dizaine d’essais dont 8 à tomber dans le pas du haut sur ce mouvement aléatoire pour attraper ce maudit bidoigt. Cette année j’ai essayé une nouvelle méthode trouvée par Dani Andrada. Au lieu de tenir la verticale main droite pour aller au trou, avec l’inter main gauche en inversée je vais à un plat main droite et je me couche pour aller au trou. C’est une méthode plus dure physiquement mais beaucoup moins aléatoire. Je l’ai fait direct au premier essai avec cette méthode ! Dani a trouvé cette séquence mais à ma connaissance je suis le premier à réaliser la voie de cette manière (cf vidéo ci-dessous). Le rocher commence à être patiné. Quand tu brosses il y a comme une sorte de magnésie fossilisée. Brossez s’il vous plaît!”

C’est la 5ème voie en 9a+ de la machine Suisse après “Chaxi”, “La cène du lézard”, “Papichulo” et “Sweet neuf”. Quant à “La Rambla”, c’est déjà la 27ème ascension de la voie !

Back to Catalunya since few days, Cédric Lachat just launched Siurana’s season ticking an old project : “La Rambla” 9a+ with a new beta in the crux!

“I tried long time ago, it was an old nemesis. The first it was after I did “La reina mora” (2015). Then I tried 2 years ago but conditions were hot. Last year I invested some time on it, during 2 months and 5 there and go from Grenoble…and I finished with a pulley damaged. I did only 10 tries and I was falling 8 times at the crux at the end, at this deadpoint move to the twofingerpocket left hand. This year I tried Andrada’s beta at the crux, instead of holding the vertical crimp right hand to the twofinger pocket with the left hand undercling, I hold this one going to a gaston-sloper right hand and then to the twofingerpocket left hand. It’s harder physically but it’s less random. I did it directly with this beta this time! Dani found this beta but I think I’m the first to send the route with this sequence (watch the video up).
Rock starts to be polished in this one with amount of chalk. Very dirty. Please brush the holds of your projects!”

It’s Cédric’s 5th 9a+ after “Chaxi”, “La cène du lézard”, “Sweet neuf” and “papichulo”. And it’s the 27th ascent of “La Rambla”!
