*** Ainhize Belar confirme sa super forme avec un nouveau 9a :
La jeune grimpeuse basque de 18 ans s’offre la classique de La Hoya (aussi appelé La Heze) à Ilarduia, “Celedon” 9a.
“J’ai passé la dernière semaine de vacances à La Leze, où j’ai pu enchaîner mon premier 8b+ en vue. Quelques jours plus tard, j’ai enchaîné “Activos tóxicos” 8c, une voie qui partage ale même final que “Celedon” et ensuite, j’ai décidé de l’essayer depuis le bas pour regarder les mouvements et avoir un autre projet près de chez moi.
À ce moment-là, “Iñi Ameriketan” était la voie qui me motivait le plus et c’est la première chose que j’ai reprise en rentrant chez moi. Mais à peine l’avais-je réalisé que je pensais déjà à la suite et à finir “Celedon” ! La vérité est que je me suis senti à l’aise dès le début et qu’après 6 essais (avec un craquage sur le dernier pas haha), j’ai pu enchainer cette voie de 45 mètres qui traverse tout le mur avec des réglettes parfaites. C’était un de ces essais où l’on est dans une bulle, où l’on profite de l’escalade et où tout coule.”
*** Delaney Miller s’offre “Fat Camp” à Rifle dans le Colorado !
Elle avait déjà réalisé du 8c+, la championne américaine Delaney Miller passe à la vitesse supérieure avec la réussite de son premier 9a à Rifle avec “Fat Camp” à la Wild Cave, un 9a équipé par Joe Kinder et dont la première avait été réalisée par Jon Cardwell en 2016. C’est la première féminine de la voie.
*** Caro Sinno s’offre son premier 8c dans le Franken !
Nous lui avions fait découvrir l’endroit à l’été 2019, la bleausarde Caro Sinno a pris au Franken, fréquentant les lieux quelques semaines chaque été. Caro vient d’y réaliser son premier 8c avec “Intercooler” et devient la 2ème française à réaliser une voie de ce niveau dans le temple de la force !
“C’est une voie d’endurance de force, je l’avais déjà essayé il y a 2 ans mais j’étais tombée dans le crux. Cette année, c’est passé rando en 2 séances ! Je suis quand même tombée en haut une fois avant en raison d’un mauvais calage dans la fin ou personne ne tombe !”

“I spent the last week of my vacation at La Leze, where I was able to send my first 8b+ in sight. A few days later, I climbed “Activos tóxicos” 8c, a route that shares the same finish as “Celedon”, and then I decided to try it from the bottom to look at the moves and have another project close to my home.
At the time, “Iñi Ameriketan” was the route that most motivated me, and it was the first thing I tried when I got home. But no sooner had I realized this than I was already thinking about the next step and finishing “Celedon”! The truth is, I felt comfortable right from the start, and after 6 attempts (including a slip on the last move haha), I was able to complete this 45-meter route that crosses the entire wall with perfect crimps. It was one of those tries where you’re in a bubble, enjoying the climbing and everything just flows.”

Already an 8c+ climber, American champion Delaney Miller went a step further with the send of her first 9a at Rifle with “Fat Camp”, a 9a bolted by Joe Kinder and first ascendedby Jon Cardwell in 2016. It’s the route’s first female ascent!
*** Caro Sinno climbs her first 8c in Frankenjura!
We introduced her to the place in summer 2019, and Caro Sinno from Font is now in love with Frankenjura, visiting the place for a few weeks each summer. Caro just completed her first 8c with “Intercooler”, becoming the 2nd French climber to complete a route of this level in the temple of strength!
“It’s a strength endurance route, I’d already tried it 2 years ago but I’d fallen into the crux. This year, it’s gone easy in 2 sessions! I still fell at the top once before due to a wrong beta at the end where nobody is falling!”
