- Stefano Ghisolfi a dernièrement essayé 3 voies extrêmes de Catalogne à la recherche de gros projets. Il s’est d’abord frotté au futuriste projet de Chris Sharma à la Finestra ( Margalef) “Perfecto Mundo”, mais aussi à “Golpe de estado” et “La capella” à Siurana toutes 9b.
A propos de “Perfecto mundo” Stefano déclare : “possible 9b+. et pour sûr la chose la plus dure que j’ai essayé. Je peux imaginer grimper les sections séparément, mais tout mettre ensemble semble très loin de mes possibilités. Mais je me connais et je sais que mes limites sont plus loin que celles atteintes dans les voies que j’ai grimpées ces derniéres années, donc ce mois je vais me tester et pousser aussi loin que je peux. Le chemin est long, je ne sais pas comment ça va se terminer, mais je me sens prêt pour cela. J’ai fait tous les mouvements du crux et je me sens à l’aise dans le style, plus que dans “Golpe de Estado”. Cela peut être un projet à long terme…”
Concernant “Golpe de estado: ” J’ai juste checké la première partie et le crux avec ce grand mouvement vers la gauche sur une arquée. Au début je pensais que c’était impossible mais après 10 tentatives dans le mouvement j’étais assez proche mais je ne l’ai pas réussi. Le mouvement est très loin mais faisable. Je peux arriver sur la prise mais je serai très tendu. ”
- Après une préparation à Bleau et un tour à Mollans, Lucien Martinez est à Oliana depuis une dizaine de jours pour tenter de gravir le projet de son année sabbatique, “Fight or flight” 9b qu’il avait déjà essayé occasionnellement l’année passée : “en fait il y a un 8c ou 8c+ d’approche sur 14 mouvements puis un 8A bloc puis un semi repos et enfin un 8c rési sur 10 mouvements. Les premières séances sont plutôt prometteuses. En fait mon objectif jusqu’à Noël est de partir 2 mouvements avant le crux (8A bloc) et d’enchaîner jusqu’en haut et j’étais pas très loin le week-end dernier. Après, il faudra arriver à bouger dans le crux pété.” Lucien reste jusqu’à fin avril.
- Le très fort grimpeur allemand Daniel Jung s’est rendu dernièrement à Mollans pour y travailler la voie la plus dure de France (avec “Akira”), “CRS” 9b, établi par Adam Ondra. Ce dernier a réussi à effectuer tous les mouvements du très dur crux sommital mais a malheureusement cassé une prise clé dans le passage. Après avoir retravaillé la voie sans cette prise, Daniel affirme que la voie est légèrement plus dure maintenant ! “Peut-être que maintenant je ne serai pas capable de la faire, mais cette voie est une grosse source de motivation pour moi.”

- Enfin, le néerlandais Jorg Verhoeven s’est aussi donné comme objectif à moyen terme (pendant 6 mois) de gravir du 9b et s’entraîne assez dur. Il a commencé à checker “Lapsus” à Andonno avant d’annoncer sa venue en Catalogne pour la fin de l’année pour essayer aussi “Fight of flight”.

About “Perfecto Mundo”, Stefano said: “For 2 days I tried this super project called Perfecto Mundo, possible 9b+ and for sure the hardest thing I’ve ever tried. I can imagine climbing the separate sections, but putting all together seems very far away from my possibilities. But I know myself, and I know my limit is way further the routes I climbed in these years, so in this month I’m going to test myself and see how far I can go. The path is still long, and I don’t know how it will end, but I feel ready for this.I did all the moves of the Crux section (one by one), and I felt comfortable on this style, much better than Golpe d’estado for me. This could be a long-term project (I think I will need months or even years)…”
About Golpe de Estado: “I just checked out the first part and the Crux move, that is a long extension to the left to a crimp. First, I thought it was an impossible move, then I felt close o do it but I tried around 10 more times and never did it. The move is very long but not impossible, I can reach it but I’m super stretched.”

- After a Font preparation and a week in Mollans, French Lucien Martinez is in Oliana since 10 days for trying seriously his year-off project: “Fight or flight” 9b which he has checked last year. “There is an 8c/c+ approach of 14 moves then an 8A boulder, a little rest and a power endurance 8c on 10 moves”. My plan before is to start 2 moves before the crux and to go to the top, and I was close last weekend. Then I need to move in the crux pumped. Lucien is staying until end of April!
- The very strong German Daniel Jung has checked “CRS” 9b in Mollans, the hardest sports route in France established by Ondra. Daniel has done the extreme moves of the top section of the route but unfortunately, he has broken an essential crimp. Now Daniel affirms the route is quite harder. “Maybe I never will be able to send it, but the route is a huge source of motivation for me.”

- Dutch Jorg Verhoeven has etablished a middle term project (during 6 months) : climbing a 9b. He is training hard for it, and has never tried “Lapsus” in Andonno before his venue at the end of the year in Catalunya for trying “Fight of flight”.
