Katie Lamb vient d’en cocher la seconde répétition, après un passage éclair de Aidan Roberts plus tôt en 2024. Première femme dans le 8C+ avec « Box Therapy » en 2023 (ramené à 8C), habituée du 8C, et plus encore du 8B+, l’américaine aura finalement investi pas mal de temps dans ce bloc un peu morpho, surtout pour le premier mouvement, un long blocage sur un rail fuyant. 2024 passa presque sans croix, et il lui aura fallu s’acharner pour enfin rétablir au sommet de « The Rookery ». Comme quoi le travail n’attend pas le nombre des cotations.

Katie Lamb has just notched up the second repetition of the line, following a lightning passage by Aidan Roberts earlier in 2024. First woman at 8C+ with her 2023 ascent of ‘Box Therapy’ (later downgraded to 8C), accustomed to 8C, and even more so to 8B+, the American invested quite a lot of time on this somewhat reach-dependent boulder, especially for the first movement, a long deadpoint to a sloppy rail. 2024 passed almost without a cross, and she had to work hard to finally stand atop ‘The Rookery’. It goes to show that grades don’t tell the whole story.
