L’Albanie, paradis de l’escalade – Albania, a rock climber’s paradise!

Le grimpeur écossais Robbie Philips, grand amateur de trad, a quitté dernièrement ses coinceurs le temps d’un voyage en Albanie afin de découvrir le potentiel minéral du pays. On se rappelle naturellement du trip de Seb Bouin, établissant il y a pile 2 ans la ligne la plus dure du pays avec la king line de 55 mètres “The Dream” 9b dans le canyon de Brar, équipée par un certain Adam Ondra.
Les falaises au caillou incroyable sont en effet légion ici, il y en a pour tous les niveaux… Voici un beau tour d’horizon dans la vidéo rétrospective ci-dessous avec aussi un appel pour sauver une vallée locale, Vjosa menacée de surexploitation. L’Albanie, la destination grimpe du futur ?

We remember the first ascent of country’s first 9b by Seb Bouin, “The dream” in Brar Canyon, bolted by Adam Ondra. But amazing crags are around the corner…with a nice tour in the video below, and a call to save Vjosa valley, threaten by damming and exploitation.
