Ludivine Balbi grimpeuse toulousaine passionnée de 15 ans et fille de la figure locale Andrea Balbi vient de réaliser ce samedi son premier 8c avec “Amadeus” à la grotte de Sabart en Ariège ! Ludivine avait déjà fait des étincelles il y a 2 ans en compétition, avec quelques participations en équipe de France jeunes, la voici aux affaires en falaise !
“Cela m’a pris 25 essais sur une dizaine de journées, environ 5 week-ends, je suis contente de compléter cette voie car je travaillais une autre voie au Triangle (St-Antonin), “Cosa Fina” (ndlr: 8b+) mais cette dernière était un peu mouillée, du coup je me suis rabattue sur “Amadeus” à Sabart, d’autant que mon père s’était collé un projet là-bas, ce qui me permettait d’aller grimper avec lui. J’avais fait un week-end au début de l’été et du coup je m’y suis collée sérieusement dessus depuis fin août avant de clipper le relais!”
“Amadeus” est une voie qui réussit bien aux jeunes, puisqu’on vous rappelle que Maïa Souveton l’avait aussi réalisé un peu plus tôt dans la saison ! A suivre, car cette croix devrait en appeler d’autres !

Ludivine Balbi, a passionate 15-year-old climber from Toulouse and daughter of local climber Andrea Balbi, just completed her first 8c with “Amadeus” at the Sabart cave in Ariège on Saturday! Ludivine had already made an ainsight 2 years ago in competition, with a few appearances on the French youth team, and now she’s back in business on the crag!
“It took me 25 attempts over ten days, or around 5 weekends. I’m glad to have completed this route, as I was working on another at Le Triangle (St-Antonin), “Cosa Fina” (editor’s note: 8b+), but it was a bit wet, so I settled on “Amadeus” at Sabart, especially as my father had stuck himself with a project there, which meant I could go climbing with him. I’d done a weekend at the beginning of the summer and so I’ve been seriously working on it since the end of August before clipping the anchor!”
“Amadeus” is a route that is proving very successful for young climbers, as we remind you that Maïa Souveton also climbed it earlier in the season! Stay tuned, as this send should call for more!
