Laura Rogora s’est rendue dans le paradis de la conti à Oliana en Catalogne la semaine passée, avec quelques voies à vue dans la poche, « Gorilas en la niebla » (8b+, 50 mètres), ou encore « China Crisis » (8b+, 40 mètres). Laura s’est surtout permis le luxe d’empocher la seconde féminine à vue de « American Hustle » (8c, 45 m), après Janja Garnbret en 2021 (vidéo ci-dessous). C’est le 3ème 8c à vue de Laura après les très longs « Ajo Curdo » (La Hermida, 50m) et « Spanish Caravane » (8b+/c, Ramirole, 50m).
Quant à Janja Garnbret, c’est à domicile à Misja Pec (Slovénie) qu’elle vient d’annoncer la réussite de « Popolni mrk », elle aussi son 3ème 8c à vue, qu’elle considère comme son plus dur. Une voie d’une trentaine de mètres typée bloc à doigts en son milieu. On rappelle que la coréenne Chaehyun Seo avait aussi réalisé du 8c à vue avec « L’antagonista » (Montsant) et « Fish Eye ».
Au vu des performances réalisées par ce trio magique de compétitrices, le premier 8c+ voire 9a à vue féminin ne saurait tarder !
Laura Rogora visited the stamina paradise of Oliana in Catalonia last week, with a couple of onsight routes under her belt, including “Gorillas en la niebla” (8b+, 50 meters), and “China Crisis” (8b+, 40 meters). Above all, Laura also allowed herself the luxury of ticking the second female onsight of “American Hustle” (8c, 45 m), after Janja Garnbret in 2021 (video below. This is Laura’s 3rd 8c onsight after the very long “Ajo Curdo” (La Hermida, 50m) and “Spanish Caravane” (8b+/c, Ramirole, 50m).
As for Janja Garnbret, it was at home in Misja Pec (Slovenia) that she just announced the onsight of “Popolni mrk”, her 3rd, which she considers her hardest. « Popolni mrk » is a 30 meters route with a bouldery crux on crimps in the middle. Korean climber Chaehyun Seo also climbed 2 8c onsight with “L’antagonista” (Montsant) and “Fish Eye”.
In view of the performances achieved by this magical trio of climbers, the first women’s 8c+ or even 9a onsight could be around the corner!
