Nalle Hukkataival avait réalisé la première ascension de ce passage en 2009 et proposé 8C. Jimmy Webb l’avait répété en 2015 puis Shawn Raboutou en 2019, suggérant une réévaluation à 8C+. Ryuichi a donc réalisé en juillet la 4ème ascension du highball qui demande en plus d’un certain engagement une parfaite maitrise des compressions, adhérences, talons et équilibres fins pour jouer autour de cette arête, ce dernier se permettant de recaker entre certains mouvements ! Nalle Hukkataival made the first ascent of this problem in 2009 and proposed 8C. Jimmy Webb repeated it in 2015 and then Shawn Raboutou in 2019, suggesting an upgrade to 8C+. In July, Ryuichi completed the 4th ascent of the highball, which, in addition to a certain level of commitment, requires perfect mastery of compression, friction, heels and precarious balancing to play around this arete, Ryuchi even allowing himself the luxury of chalking between certain moves!
