Daniel Woods vient de réaliser la première ascension d’une nouveau bloc extrême à Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado), “Box Therapy” 8C+, un gros dévers situé non loin du lac de RMNP’s box. C’est le 3ème 8C+ bloc du site de bloc US après “Hypnotized Minds” et “Creature from the black lagoon” . Le passage propose 18 mouvements sur arquées. C’est Tommy Caldwell et son père qui ont trouvé initialement ce panneau de granite situé à 3500 mètres d’altitude : un bloc de 7 mètres de haut avec 50° de dévers ! A l’époque Tommy avait ouvert “Spread eagle” 8A et “Box Therapy” est le départ bas de ce dernier avec le crux situé dans la transition du départ debout, proposant un mouvement typé pan Güllich et un croisé très physique. Daniel Woods just did the first ascent of new extreme boulder in Rocky Montain National Park (Colorado), “Box Therapy” V16, a big overhang located to RMNP’s Box lake. It’s the 3rd V16 boulder of the area after “Hypnotized Minds” and “Creature of a black lagoon”. The problem offers 18 moves on crimps. It’s Tommy Calwell and his father who found this granite monster, 20 feet high with 50° overhang at elevation 10500 feet! Tommy just set a stand start of the problem, “Spread eagle” V11 and “Box Therapy” is the low start of this one, with a crux coming in the transition to the start, offering an hard campus move sequence and a front lever cross.
