Le bloqueur transalpin Elias Iagnemma est devenu le premier grimpeur à proposer du 9A+ bloc en novembre dernier avec « Exodia », et revient sur le processus de son ouverture à San Pellice (Italie) dans la vidéo ci-dessous. Un passage qui lui aura coûté pas moins de 200 séances, un bloc originellement défriché par la légende des années 2000 Christian Core mais laissée à l’état de projet car trop difficile. Un gros pavé déversant proposant une escalade physique, avec un repos chauve-souris sur double genou très gainant en guise d’unique décontraction médiane, qu’Elias parviendra finalement à boucler au fil des années. Transalpine boulderer Elias Iagnemma became the first climber to set a 9A+ boulder problem last November with “Exodia”, and looks back on the process of his first ascent in San Pellice, Italy. A problem that took him no fewer than 200 sessions, it was pioneered by the legendary Christian Core in the 2000s but left as a project, due to the high difficulty of the moves on tiny crimps. A massive overhanging boulder offering a physically demanding climb, with a double-knee bat rest—which really works the core—as the only mid-route rest, that Elias was finally able to complete.
