La grimpeuse suédoise, Linda Sjödin, vient de réussir son projet du moment avec la répétition de “New Base Line” 8B+ à Magic Wood en Suisse. Linda vit à Stokholm et tout en étant étudiante en médecine, elle arrive à trouver le temps de grimper et de perfer en bloc; Linda fait d’ailleurs partie de l’équipe nationale. Elle n’avait réussi jusqu’alors qu’une poignée de 8A (le premier l’été dernier) mais cela faisait deux ans qu’on lui disait qu’elle avait le niveau d’essayer “New base line”. Seules avant Shauna Coxsey, Anna Stöhr et Alex Puccio et Mile Heyden avaient réalisé le bloc chez les femmes et Lina ne se sentait pas dans la même catégorie… Mais la vidéo d’Alex Puccio dedans l’a grandement inspirée et a finalement convaincu Linda d’aller travailler régulièrement le bloc cet année. En juin dernier, elle a réussi le départ debout estimé à 8A. S’en suit les fantastiques séances de cette fin d’été très bien retranscrites dans la longue vidéo ci-dessous. Linda devient la 11ème fille dans le 8B+ bloc et plus ! Nul doute qu’on devrait ré-entendre parler d’elle dans le futur !
Swedish climber, Linda Sjödin, just sent her project with the repeat of “New Base Line” 8B + at Magic Wood in Switzerland. Linda lives in Stokholm as a medical student, she manages to find the time to climb and send hard boulder – by the way, Linda is part of the national team-. Until now, she had only managed a bunch of 8A (the first one was in summer 2018) but since 2 years , her friends have told her she had the level to try “New base line”. The women who managed to send the boulder are Shauna Coxsey, Anna Stöhr and Alex Puccio and Mile Heyden and Lina did not feel she was playling in the same league… But the video of Alex Puccio climbing it inspired her and it has eventually convinced Linda to try regularly the boulder this year. Last June, she managed the standing start estimated at 8A.This has been followed by the fantastic sessions of this late summer which are very well transcribed in the long video below. Linda becomes the 11th girl in the 8B + boulder and more! No doubt we should hear again about her in the future!
