Chaehyun Seo, seconde femme à réaliser 8c à vue ! – Chaehyun Seo, second woman to onsight 8c!

Après son ascension éclair de “La Rambla” à Siurana, la championne coréenne Chaehyun Seo (19 ans) vient de réaliser une nouvelle performance exceptionnelle sur la falaise voisine de Montsant, avec une nouvelle seconde féminine. En effet, Chaehyun s’est payée une tranche de à vue et de conti avec “Hydrofobia”, 8b classique et surtout “L’antagonista” 8c à vue de 60 mètres ; elle devient ainsi la seconde femme à réaliser un 8c à vue !

Sur 8a.nu, Seo déclare “Cela m’a pris plus d’une heure ! La partie la plus dure était à 55 mètres de haut. Je suis restée là environ 20 minutes. Je devais rester concentrée et j’ai pensé que c’était la dernière chance de réussir malgré les bouteilles, même si je pouvais rester au repos. J’ai donc saisi cette chance et j’ai pu faire le crux. J’ai juste attrapé le trou, réalisé un croisé sur un mauvais plat et j’ai passé le pas de justesse.”

Seo devient donc la seconde femme à réussir un 8c à vue, un peu plus d’un an après les réussites de Janja Garnbret dans “Fish Eye” puis dans “American Hustle” à Oliana (vidéo ci-dessous).

On 8a.nu, she said : “It took me almost an hour. The hardest part for me was at about 55m height. I fought there for almost twenty minutes. I just focused on it and thought that this is the last chance I was getting pumped even though I was resting, so I thought that this is the last chance that I can do the crux. I just grabbed the pocket hold and made a cross over to the bad sloper and I just barely made it.”
