Une nouvelle voie dure dans les gorges du Tarn annoncée dans le 9ème degré est née grâce à Mattéo Soulé ! Trois ans après le toujours non-répété “Dieu Merci”, c’est juste au dessus, dans le gros dévers de la partie droite de l’Amphithéâtre que Mattéo Soulé, 16 ans, a œuvré avec la première ascension de “Trois pattes dans la chouffe”, une connexion qu’il a équipé entre la célèbre “3 pattes dans le plâtre” (8c, théâtre des mésaventures passées de son père) et la relativement récente et majeure “Chouffe qui peut” (8b+). Il nous en dit plus.
“Cette voie est une variante que j ai équipée et essayé 4 séances l’année dernière, et deux séances cette année pour concrétiser. C’est une pure ligne bien résistante dans le plafond de “trois pattes”, il faut faire quasi tout le crux du 8c puis on arrive directement dans la jonction avec le 8b+, 5/6 mouvement en 7B+ bloc permettent d arriver à la rampe du 8b+ et finir dans le crux de celui ci. Au total l’enchainement fait 25 mouvements bien durs qui s enchaînent sans aucun repos. Le 9a est à confirmer bien évidemment mais cela me paraît plutôt cohérent, le crux de la traversée est vraiment plus dur que celui de trois pattes dans le plâtre.
Dans le crux de jonction tu te retrouves avec un bon bidoigt main droite et là tu fais un grand mouvement pour aller chercher le trou du crux de 3 pattes ensuite il faut gainer des pieds pas très bon dans le toit pour prendre un premier mono qui fait mal et relancer très loin à une alvéole plate, de là je fais un drapeau pour ramener en claquant dans le mono puis croiser dans un trou plat à côté de la main ensuite tu peux remettre une claque dans une autre alvéole plate afin de lancer les contres pointes à l’horizontal sur la rampe du 8b+. Maintenant il faudra essayer la variante dans l’autre sens qui partira du 8b+ et qui finit dans le 8c, c’est bien classe aussi.”

A new hard route in the Gorges du Tarn proposed in the 9th degree is born thanks to Mattéo Soulé! Three years after the still non-repeated “Dieu Merci”, it’s just above, at the right overhanging part of the Amphitheater sector that Mattéo Soulé (16 years old) grabbed the first ascent of “Trois pattes dans la chouffe”, a link he has bolted between the famous “Trois pattes dans la plâtre” (8c, scene of his father’s past misadventures) and relatively recent and major “Chouffe qui peut” (8b+). He tells us more.
“This route is a link that I bolted and tried 4 sessions last year, and two sessions this year to achieve. It’s a pure line very resistant in the roff of “Trois pattes”, you have to do all the difficultues of the 8c then we arrive directly in the junction with 8b+, 5/6 movement around 7B+ boulder in order to reach the lip of the 8b+ and finish in the crux of this one. In total the link makes 25 very hard movements without any rest. The 9a is obviously to be confirmed but it seems rather coherent to me, the crux in the traverse is really harder than the one of the 8c approach.
In the link crux you find yourself with a good twofingerpocket right hand and there you make a big move to get the hole of the crux of “3 patte”s, then you have to stay in the roff with bad feet to take a bad mono and dyno in a very far slopy hole, from there I make a flag for matching in the mono then I cross in another flat hole, then another slap and the toehooks to place at the lip of the 8b+. Now I will have to try the link in the other direction which will start from the 8b+ and end in the 8c, it’s also classy.”
