“Mojave”, voie sportive mythique de la péninsule ibérique, est située à El Torcal (Malaga). Connue pour être le premier 8c+ réalisé par un espagnol (Bernabe Fernandez en 1994 ) et le second 8c+ du pays après qu’Alex Huber ait libéré la première partie de “La Rambla” à Siurana (dont le relais a ensuite été remonté, proposant la king line en 9a+ que l’on connait), “Mojave” propose 25 mètres d’endurance de force avec en guise de crux un croisé tonique sur bidoigts. C’est le morceau auquel s’est attaqué cette fin de printemps Ana Belen Argudo après ses réalisations en Catalogne à Oliana ou Santa Linya, s’offrant la première répétition féminine. Une belle manière de célébrer les 30 ans de la première ascension de la voie, avec un beau documentaire sous le coude !
“Mojave” is a mythical sport climbing route on the Iberian peninsula, located in El Torcal (Malaga): known for being the first 8c+ climbed by a Spanish climber (Bernabe Fernandez in 1994) and also the second one in the country after Alex Huber freed the first part of “La Rambla” in Siurana (whose belay was later put up, offering the 9a+ king line we all know). “Mojave” offers 25 meters of power endurance climbing with a crux quite powerful, a cross with bad twofingerpockets. This is the challenge that Ana Belen Argudo tackled this late spring, after her achievements in Catalunia at Oliana and Santa Linya, sending the route for the first known female repeat. A very good way in order to celebrate the route’s 30th anniversary with a nice documentary indeed, just below!
