Comme beaucoup de grimpeurs pros, la pandémie a fait changer les plans de Jonathan Siegrist pour des destinations plus proches, et tenter de répéter ou d’établir des voies très dures aux US. Ainsi Jonathan s’est rendu dans le désert de l’Ouest de l’Utah dans l’impressionnante Pop Tir Cave pour réaliser la seconde ascension de “Peruvian Necktie”. Cette voie très fortement déversante a été équipée et libérée en 2013 par James Litz et proposée à 9a+, mais la difficulté serait plus soutenue et Jonathan propose 9b. Si le niveau est confirmé dans le futur cela pourrait devenir la seconde proposition la plus dure en escalade sportive des US. A découvrir ci-dessous !
Like many professional climbers, the pandemic changed Jonathan Siegrist‘s plans to domestic destinations, and try to repeat or establish very hard lines in US. So Jonathan went to the desert of Western Utah in the impressive Pop Tir Cave to grab the second ascent of “Peruvian Necktie”. This very steep overhang was bolted and freed in 2013 by James Litz andgiven 9a +, but the difficulty would be more intense and Jonathan is thinking 9b.
