Il y a eu ce week-end de bonnes conditions à St-Léger du Ventoux avec de l’action et de belles croix à la clé ! C’est au secteur Praniania que cela s’est passé avec une répétition de l’exigeant “Cadafist” 9a/+ par le jeune mutant havrais Victor Guillermin, qui a essayé la voie par intermittence quelques week-ends depuis la Toussaint. C’est sa deuxième voie de ce niveau après la réalisation de “Sachidananda” à Orgon il y a 2 ans.
“J’essayais cette voie depuis novembre environ, et cette voie correspondait bien à un “side project” bien physique, sur pince, et qui entraine très bien ! La vidéo d’Alex Megos m’a aussi bien motivé… Alors j’ai décidé d’essayer et je n’ai pas été déçu. J’ai mis au total 6 séances pour faire cette voie, réparti en 3 week-ends. Le premier j’ai fait les moves, mais je me faisais malmener dans les sections… Le deuxième week-end a été bien mieux, je suis tombé au tout dernier mouvement dur ! Et enfin ce week-end, malgré des coupures à la peau, j’ai mis un run samedi où je suis retombé au tout dernier mouvement, un dynamique et dimanche, juste après l’échauffement, j’ai enchainé au soleil, avec un gros combat ! Dans le crux, je suis passé en changeant de main sur une colo, en tirant sur un bon talon (j’ai d’ailleurs éclaté un bout de ce talon), et de là je me jette dans le bi ! Au final, j’y suis quasiment jamais tombé, le crux pour moi était le tout dernier mouv dynamique, une grande relance vers une petite arquée. Donc le 8c de fin, j’y suis plus tombé qu’en bas quasiment, il est vraiment dur, mais démentiel à grimper ! La suite est le gros projet de cette année, “Stoking The Fire”, le 9b de Sharma à Santa Linya ! 30 mouvements de pure résistance de force, suivis d’une fin hyper rési. Il y a aussi la saison de compétition en diff, qui arrive à grand pas !”

This weekend saw good conditions in St-Léger du Ventoux, with plenty of action and some great sends! It was at Praniania that it all happened, with a repeat of the demanding “Cadafist” 9a/+ by young gun from Le Havre Victor Guillermin, who has tried the route on and off a few weekends since November. It’s his second route at this level, after “Sachidananda” in Orgon 2 years ago.
“I’d been trying this route since about November, and it fitted in well with a very physical side project that is also great for training! Alex Megos’ video also motivated me… So I decided to give it a try, and I wasn’t disappointed. It took me a total of 6 sessions to do this route, spread over 3 weekends. The first weekend I did the moves, but I was getting roughed up in the sections… The second weekend was much better, I fell on the very last hard move! And finally this weekend, despite skin cuts, I put in a good go on Saturday (where I fell back on the very last move, a dynamic one) and on Sunday, just after the warm-up, I sent it in the sun, with a big fight! In the crux, I matched hands on a tufa, pulling on a good heel (I actually broke a piece of this heel), and from there I did a kind of deadpoint move into the two-finger pocket! In the end, I almost never fell there, the crux for me being the very last dynamic move, a big go-again move towards a small crimp. So the final 8c, I fell more there than at the bottom almost, it’s really hard, but crazy to climb! Next up is this year’s big project, “Stoking The Fire”, Sharma’s 9b in Santa Linya! 30 moves of pure strength resistance, followed by a hyper-resistant finish. Then there’s the lead competition season, which is just around the corner!”
