Hugo Parmentier, en année sabbatique profite des falaises pour faire le plein de projets. Après avoir bouclé « Papi Chulo » cet hiver, c’est une nouvelle King Line qui tombe, avec cette fois la première ascension de « Générations futures » (9a), une voie équipée par Jibé Jourjon en 2021 à Céüse !
» La voie fait +60m et passe dans le gigantesque et magnifique bombé bleu de Nitshapa. Elle regroupe presque toutes les caractéristiques de la Queen/King Line ! Mouvements, Ligne, Qualité du rocher, l’Ampleur, Variété des prises, run out, complexité logistique (tirage de la corde, loin des secteurs classiques, plus de marche etc.) qui plus est « sur la plus belle falaise au monde « .
Ouverte en 2021 par le fort chambérien Jibé Jourjon, c’est une photo du mur posté sur son instagram qui m’avait complètement attrapé. Focus sur les compétitions j’ai mis quelques années avant d’avoir le temps et d’oser m’y attaquer. En année sabbatique avec ma copine Tess c’était le moment parfait pour poser le siège.
Jamais essayé avant en dehors de quelques montées par Jibé. J’ai vécu le processus de FA de A à Z et malgré la qualité du caillou j’ai passé pas mal de temps à brosser pour enlever le lichen qui se dépose dans les murs bleus lavé par les pluie. J’y ai bien passé 2 Fazaa dans l’histoire.
Finalement la voie m’a demandé beaucoup d’effort, 2 trips arreté par de grosses pluies, une maladie, et un effort difficile pour moi.
Malgré ça j’ai passé des moments suspendu là haut, hors du temps. Je me rendais compte à chaque run du privilège que j’avais de grimper dans cette voie. Je ne m’en remets toujours pas, 23 ans à faire de l’escalade et vivre ça…. C’est fou. »

Hugo Parmentier, on sabbatical break, is taking advantage of the cliffs to project and try hard. After completing « Papi Chulo » this winter, a new King Line is falling down, this time with the first ascent of « Générations futures » (9a), a route bolted by Jibé Jourjon in 2021 in Céüse !
« The route is over 60 meters long and climbs the gigantic and magnificent blue overhang of Nitshapa.
It has almost all the features of a true King/Queen Line! The moves, the line, the rock quality, the scale, the variety of holds, the runouts, the logistical complexity (rope drag, far from the classic sectors, longer approach, etc.), and all of that on the most beautiful cliff in the world.
It was bolted in 2021 by strong climber Jibé Jourjon from Chambéry. A photo of the wall he posted on Instagram totally hooked me. Focused on competitions, it took me a few years to find the time—and the courage—to give it a try. On a sabbatical year with my girlfriend Tess, it was the perfect moment to commit.
It had never been tried before apart from a few shots from Jibé after bolting it. I got to experience the full First Ascent process from A to Z. Despite the rock’s high quality, I still spent a lot of time brushing off the lichen that settles on the blue walls washed by rain. I must’ve put two full Fazaa sessions into this.
In the end, the route demanded a lot of effort—two trips cut short by heavy rain, one illness, and a very hard battle for me.
Even so, I had some timeless moments up there. With every attempt, I realized how privileged I was to be climbing this route. I still haven’t fully processed it—23 years of climbing, and to live something like this… it’s unreal.«
