Sciana Punta Giradili (730 m) is described as one of the most beautiful walls in Sardinia (Italy) with amazing multipitch climbing for all levels. In 2006, Rolando Larcher, Maurizio Oviglia and Roberto Vigiani opened “Mezzogiorno di Fuoco” (7 pitches: 7a+, 8b, 6c, 8a/+, 7c+, 7c, 7a) in the overhang at the center of the face. Tho Polish climber Aleksandra Taistra just climbed the route and here are her thoughts:

After finishing “Amico Fragile” and “Unchinos” during the Spring, “Mezzogiorno” was my goal for the end of the year. The truth is I didn’t know Punta Giradi at all and so I arrived with only one expectation: it would be warm. The wall is in the blazing sun all day. What I soon discovered is that the style of the route is very exposed, too. I am not used to practice 20-meters falling,so I had to tighten my teeth to stop being scared. I have to admit that “Mezzogiorno” was a great mental challenge for me. On the easier parts there were moments where I felt that I simply shouldn’t fall off. My friend Jurek Kolakowski helped me a lot during the work of the route and was very patient as I navigated the long run-outs. We swapped days supporting one another on our projects and on my days he systematically woke me up at 5:00 am so that I could climb in the shade as much as possible. I climbed it in a day when I didnt plan it.
We went with Matteo Piccardi only to try the 8b part. I fell once close to the top of the key pitch and 15 minutes later the next try was sucessful, what meant I decided go for all pitches!”
An unexpected send!
