L’américaine Katie Lamb, spécialiste du bloc de haut niveau depuis plus d’une décennie, a réalisé une des plus belles perfs de cet été avec la première féminine de “Bow Therapy” à RMNP, rapidement imitée par Brooke Raboutou qui a proposé une décotation. Peu importe les chiffres, Katie vient d’annoncer avoir réalisé deux superbes croix de nouveau cet automne dans deux dévers prononcés, “Deadlift” 8B+ à Squamish (Canada) et plus récemment le très esthétique “Decided” 8B+ au Mont Mizugaki (Japon), vidéos à la clé, avant peut-être de se focaliser plus tard sur le départ assis en 8C+?
Une autre américaine vient de se distinguer en bloc, Michaela Kiersch. À peine rentrée de Margalef que Michaela a torpillé en à peine 2 heures le 8B de “After Hours” à Huntington Canyon dans l’Utah. Un bloc sur arquées de 6mm et talons, tout dans son style, réalisé aussi par Allison Vest il y a quelques semaines, vidéo sympa (ci-dessous) sous le coude. Du côté des françaises, c’est notre Marine Thévenet nationale qui, en vacances à Albarracin, réalise “Lost in the silence”, une traversée à doigts suivie d’une 2e partie qu’elle qualifie “d’effrayante” en raison de la présence de mouvements tournants avec une réception accidentée. Tout un programme !

American Katie Lamb, a top-level boulderer for more than a decade, achieved one of this summer’s finest performances with the first female ascent of “Bow Therapy” in RMNP, quickly imitated by Brooke Raboutou who thereafter proposed a downgrade. But forget the numbers, Katie just announced in a little video two superb ticks again this autumn in two major overhangs, “Deadlift” 8B+ in Squamish (Canada) and more recently the very aesthetic “Decided” 8B+ in Mount Mizugaki (Japan), before perhaps focusing later on the 8C+ sit start? Michaela Kiersch, another American top-gun, is also making a name for herself in bouldering. Barely back from Margalef, Michaela quickly repeated the 8B “After Hours” in Huntington Canyon, Utah, in just 2 hours. A boulder on 6mm crimps and heels, right in her style, also achieved by Allison Vest a few weeks prior, sharing a nice video (above). On the French side, it’s our national Marine Thévenet who, on vacation in Albarracin, did “Lost in the silence”, a finger traverse followed by a 2nd part which she describes as “scary” due to the presence of balancy moves with a fairly savage landing. Quite the program!
