Episode 10 de la série vidéo ” Hidden Gems” en compagnie de Seb Bouin qui part à la découverte de la Bretagne et du site magnifique de Pen-Hir, une falaise côtière située au bout de la pointe bretonne. Un cadre assez atypique et de belles classiques qui sont présentées, sur un grès armoricain très compact. Seb en a profité pour ouvrir “Gwareg”, un 8b dans une arche, qu’il a aussi répété ensuite en deep water solo !
“Quelle chance de découvrir un endroit comme celui-ci ! PEN-HIR ! La Bretagne ! Grimper au-dessus de l’océan avec autant d’ambiance, je n’en ai pas l’habitude. J’aime pouvoir refaire ces voies historiques, qui sont d’ailleurs parfois délicates, avec un type de rocher dépendant des conditions météo. J’ai même profité de l’occasion pour équiper et faire du free solo dans une grotte… Regardez la vidéo pour voir comment ça s’est passé”.
Episode 10 of the “Hidden Gems” video series with Seb Bouin, who is discovering Brittany and the magnificent place of Pen-Hir, a sea cliff at the tip of the Breton peninsula. A rather atypical setting and some beautiful classics visited on very compact Armorican sandstone. Seb took the opportunity to open “Gwareg” 8b in an arch, which he then repeated in deep water solo!
“What an opportunity to discover a place like this! PEN-HIR! La Bretagne! Climbing above the ocean with so much atmosphere is not something I’m used to. I love being able to repeat these historic routes, which by the way, are sometimes tricky, with a rock type dependient on the weather conditions. I even took the opportunity to bolt and free solo a new route in a cave here.. Check out the video to see how it went.”
