Vétéran de la grimpe transalpine et véritable touche à tout, Gabri Moroni (36 ans) vient d’annoncer la réalisation de son premier 9b courant décembre avec la 5ème ascension d'”Erebor” à Eremo di San Paolo, Arco. Cette voie de pure résistance dans un dévers prononcé est marquée par un double jeté de départ avant une grimpe athlétique sur réglettes dans un style très “compétition”. Elle a été ouverte en 2021 par Stefano Ghisolfi à 9b/+, puis a été répétée par Laura Rogora, et Adam Ondra avait réalisé la 3ème ascension et ramené l’enchaînement 9b. Jakob Schubert l’a aussi répété l’an dernier après avoir cassé une prise de pied dans la partie sommitale. Assurément un des challenges les plus durs d’Italie avec “Excalibur” 9b+ proposé par Stefano en février dernier. En escalade sportive, Gabri comptait plusieurs 9a+ à son actif comme “Demencial Senil”, “Goldrake” ou “Naturalmente”, ou la première de “Trofeo dell’Adriatico”, mais n’avait pas encore réalisé de 9b. Un accomplissement pour un véritable touche à tout passionné de l’activité, qui aura mis plusieurs saisons à boucler l’affaire.

Transalpine climbing veteran and true all-rounder, Gabri Moroni (36) just announced the send of his first 9b in December, with the 5th ascent of “Erebor” at Eremo di San Paolo, Arco. This route of pure resistance on a pronounced overhang proposes a double dyno start before an athletic climb on crimps in a very competition powerful style. Opened in 2021 by Stefano Ghisolfi at 9b/+, it was then repeated by Laura Rogora, before Adam Ondra made the 3rd ascent and brought it down to 9b. Jakob Schubert also repeated it last year after breaking a foothold on the top section. Certainly one of the toughest challenges in Italy with “Excalibur” 9b+ proposed by Stefano last February. In sport climbing, Gabri had several 9a+ to his credit, such as “Demencial Senil”, “Goldrake” or “Naturalmente”, or the first ascent of “Trofeo dell’Adriatico”, but had not yet achieved a 9b. An achievement for a true long time passionnate, who was working the line over seasons.
