Simon Lorenzi semble sur un nuage. Le bloqueur belge vient une nouvelle fois de frapper un grand coup en réalisant la 3ème ascension de “Burden of Dreams” 9A en Finlande après Will Bosi ce printemps et Nalle Hukkataival en 2016. C’est déjà le 3ème 9A bloc de Simon après la première ascension de “Soudain Seul” à Bleau et sa répétition d'”Alphane” à Chironico il y a un an. Véritable spécialiste des blocs extrêmes, Simon est à 3 blocs cochés sur 6 propositions au Monde ! Il ne lui reste plus que le “Megatron” de Shawn Raboutou, “The return of the Sleepwalker” de Daniel Woods à Red Rocks (USA) et “L’ombre du voyageur”, la récente première ascension de Charles Albert au Salève en Suisse.
“Burden of dreams” aura été conquis sur un seul séjour, Simon étant parti avec son pote vidéaste Gilles Charlier à l’assaut du Graal mi-novembre. Après 40 jours sur place, ces 5 purs mouvements ont été vaincus, avec semblerait-il une nouvelle méthode au milieu où contrairement à Nalle et Will, Simon débarque sur la dernière réglette du panneau en épaule main gauche, directement armé pour le jeté final (vidéo d’un run proche en bas d’article). Un exemple de détermination et de méthode dans le travail de blocs durs qu’on avait déjà entrevu dans la vidéo “d’Alphane”. Bravo ! Et vivement une belle vidéo retraçant le processus derrière ce nouvel exploit !

Simon Lorenzi seems to be on cloud nine. The Belgian boulderer has once again completed a great achivement, claiming the 3rd ascent of “Burden of Dreams” 9A in Finland after Will Bosi this spring and Nalle Hukkataival. This is already Simon’s 3rd 9A boulder after his first ascent of “Soudain Seul” in Bleau and his repeat of “Alphane” in Chironico a year ago. A true specialist in extreme bouldering, Simon is now up to 3 boulders out of 6 proposed to the World! All he has left is Shawn Raboutou’s “Megatron”, Daniel Woods’ “The return of the Sleepwalker” at Red Rocks (USA) and “L’ombre du voyageur”, Charles Albert’s recent first ascent of the Salève in Switzerland.
The “Burden of Dreams” was conquered in a single stay, as Simon set off with his videographer buddy Gilles Charlier to conquer the Grail in mid-November. After 40 days on the place, these 5 pure moves have been conquered, with what appears to be a new method in the middle where, unlike Nalle and Will, Simon is going to the last gaston crimp of the panel in left-hand first, directly locked for the final dyno (video of a close go just below). An example of determination and method in hard bouldering work that we had already whitnessed in Alphane’s video. Well done!
