En 2017, Ines Papert, Joseph Pfnur, Luka Lindic et Paul McSorley ont réalisé une première ascension à Slangghoek,  le big wall le plus haut d’Afrique du Sud qui consiste en un amphithéâtre de quartzite de plus de 500 mètres de haut . L’équipe a ouvert “Ruby supernova”, une nouvelle voie de 13 longueurs où ils n’ont pas eu à planter un seul spit pour 520 mètres d’escalade allant jusqu’au ED1 7b+ (VI 5.12c) . Ils ont aussi réalisé en libre l’autre voie existante des lieux, “Private universe” ouverte en 2002 par les locaux Hilton Davies, David Davies and Mathew Sim. Résumé dans la vidéo ci-dessous !

In 2017, Ines Papert, Joseph Pfnur, Luka Lindic and Paul McSorley made a first ascent on the 500m quartzite wall of Slanghoek, South Africa’s highest big wall. The team sets “Ruby supernova'” ,a route where they didn’t drill a single bolt with 13 pitches up to ED1 7b+ (VI 5.12c) . They also freed the only other existing route of the area, “Private Universe” established in 2002 by the local climbers Hilton Davies, David Davies and Mathew Sim. Testify in the video below.
